The following is a list of the various diseases, symptoms and health conditions for which acupuncture has been shown to be an effective treatment. This list was established in 2002 by the World Health Organization, following research in controlled clinics on the effectiveness of these treatments.
The variety of health problems listed below demonstrates the versatility of acupuncture. In addition, these treatments can be performed on people of all ages and do not require the use of drugs to relieve and treat pain.
